Providing Restorative Justice Services in Manukau, Auckland and North Shore District Courts

About Us

AUCKLAND
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE TRUST

The Auckland Restorative Justice Trust (ARJT) was established as a charitable trust on the 10th of June 2009. Today, ARJT is funded by the Ministry of Justice to provide Restorative Justice Services to Auckland, North Shore and Manukau District Courts.

Each of the three courts has an ARJT Court Coordinator. The Court Coordinators provide support and information to the stakeholders within the court throughout the process from the Judge’s Restorative Justice referral to the offenders sentencing date.

We have a large, skilled and diverse team of Restorative Justice Facilitators. With approximately 30 contracted, accredited and experienced Restorative Justice Facilitators, we are able to accommodate the diverse cultural needs of victims and offenders.

We have a small operations team to maintain the integrity and quality of our service. Within our quality team is our RJ Practice Lead who ensures our RJ practice is of a consistent standard. With a strong focus on research, evaluation and reflective practice our operations team work together to ensure our RJ practice is evidence based.

Led by our General Manager, we all work together to deliver a quality RJ service for victims and offenders of crime, their support networks and our communities across Tamaki Makaurau.
